Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day

 So, today is Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day.  I have always enjoyed this day, finding new blogs and the promise of maybe winning something too.  But this is the first year that I have participated.  If you are a regular reader or a new reader welcome along.

So, I have rustled up a whole heap of scraps



there are a couple of liberty scraps, flea market fancy, some Summersville and lots of others too.  There are also some buttons and ribbon.  I will keep going through my fabrics and adding more to this, so there will be a nice big bundle at the end.
And I will put it all in this pouch:


We have had fabulous weather here this weekend, so to enter:

1.  Tell me of some great places to go and visit when the weather is lovely: wherever you are: you never know, I may get there one day.

    We live in NY near the Finger Lakes...there are also lots of waterfalls and hiking areas...they are great places to visit on a warm spring day!

    I live in London UK and I have just taken my dad around sightseeing as he is over here for 4 days. I have so many places I love to visit - Imperial War Museum, Carnaby Street, Neal's Yard, Borough Market, Liberty's.... ahhhh London....

    I love to visit the beach. Especially in Autumn and Spring because summer here is too hot for me to go to the beach. Sounds odd probably but it's true. This time of year is just perfect.

    Ah I love scraps. I'm from Portland, Maine. Any one of the lighthouses in the area is a great visit. Especially Bug Light!

    If you ever get to the Gulf Coast of Alabama be sure to spend some time on Orange Beach. it is just lovely with all the sugar white sand.

    I'd recommend Whitby for a day by the sea or Castleton for a day in the country - little (and big!) ones can paddle in the stream. Or maybe try the Goathland to Grosmont walkway one way and get the steam train back and see the station that was used in the first Harry Potter film. Whatever you do, don't forget to have at least one ice cream - it's the law ;o)

    When the weather is good we head to Erdigg near Wrexham. There's a lovely walk with dappled woodland shade and a shallow river suitable for paddling. To finish off a lovely day, there's a NT tea room.

    Anywhere pretty much along the River Thames (non tidal) is a great place to be on a sunny day...or a good pub garden. I also like the seaside and pretty much anywhere on a sunny day!

    We just had a camping weekend in Derbyshire - Haddon Grove campsite near Bakewell. Cheap and basic... you know cow sheds into toilet blocks, rope swings made from old tyres! Beautiful views and walks... and bakewell has millions of cafes. Fab (only down side was a child who came out with chicken pox while we were there - camping and chicken pox do not mix!) xxx

    New follower through the giveaway...I live in Des Moines, and one of the best places around here, RIGHT NOW, is called Tulip Festival in Pella, IA. It's an adorable little Dutch community and they have literally MILLIONS of gorgeous tulips blooming at this time of year (when it's not covered in the "freak snowstorm" we had a few days ago!)

    Scraps are the best giveaway ever! I love going to the Botanical Gardens here in Atlanta in the Spring just as it starts to get warm. All the flowers are blooming but it still isn't that crowded.

    We are currently in Fort Jackson, SC and this time of year when the weather is wonderful I like to take our daughter to the Cottle Strawberry Farm! It's just 5 minutes down the road, they have the best strawberries, and it's great to let my girl run around in the fresh air and have some fun picking! Thanks for the lovely giveaway!

    Well, if you ever get to Oregon...try the Oregon Caves, Wildlife Safari and of course, we have fabulous gardens in Portland--Japanese, Chinese, and the Rose Garden...really, I've lived here for almost 37 years and haven't seen it all!

    I'm kind of a homebody, so when the weather gets nice, the closest I get to traveling is taking my son on toddler appropriate outings to local petting farms, the wading pool, etc...

    Ooooh - I love scraps so much!! We live near High Point State Park which is the highest point in New Jersey (I live in PA, though). It has a beautiful vantage point over the Delaware River Valley and you can see forever from up there. Thanks for the chance to win!

    Love scraps! You should visit Tennessee; it's quite lovely in the Spring and Fall. The summer heat can be oppressive (ugh), and the winters rather "ugly" as it's gray skies, bare trees and brown/dead grass...

    I live in Mallorca, it's an island in the Mediterranean Sea. With this lovely Spring weather, you could go to some beach you have to walk a while to go there, they are perfect now.

    We bought land that has been in my husband's family for generations. One of my favorite things to do is walk down to the creek and let our toddler splash and play. We are in western South Carolina if you ever want to visit!

    We live in rural East Texas, and like to wander around our small downtown and check out the antique shops, the quilt shop, and the local farmers market. There's also a small zoo in a nearby town that we enjoy spending a day visiting.

    I live in central Illinois. Allerton Park near Monticello is a terrific park to visit with lots of statues and gardens. Also, for any type of weather, the Lincoln Bookstore and Museum in Springfield is pretty amazing. Lincoln's New Salem is nearby, and so are his home and tomb.

    When the weather is delightful I love to sit in my back yard and listen to nature. At times when adventure strikes...I like to go to the Zoo, Blue Ridge Parkway, Dog Island, Grand Canyon.

    I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, so when the weather is lovely there are so many places to go--the beach, the City, Mt. Tamalpais for hiking, wine country. All are within an hour's drive. :-)

    When the weather is good here, I like to go down to the little park in Green Cove Springs, down on the St. John's river. It is lovely and cool there by the water, and there are picnic benches and grills to cook on.

    Where I live it is beautiful from July-September, even if it rains the rest of the year. We have awe-inspiring mountains, including our own volcano, Mt. St. Helens. Portland is close-by, Seattle is a day-trip and so is the Pacific Ocean.

    I live in Sydney Australia & my favourite thing to do on a lovely day is to do the coastal walk from Bondi to Bronte beach, it's a pathway along the cliff tops. Every spring there is an outdoor exhibition called Sculpture by the Sea with fantastic sculptures dotted along the paths, it's amazing! Thanks for the lovely giveaway.

    I'm from a little place called Lake Macquarie in Australia and we have amazing walk ways around the lake and the beaches so I love to take the kids walking or riding. But being out on the lake on my friends cruiser is just heaven.

    When family visits me here in Vegas, I often take them to Red Rock Canyon for hiking and excellent photos. Lake Las Vegas is a nice, quiet retreat as well (from The Strip!), and offers free weekend concerts in the summer. AND. when the desert heat comes on, we have several great quilt shops!

    I live in Ottawa, and spring in Ottawa means the Tulip Festival! I do hope that you find yourself here some day, it's truly amazing to see hundreds of thousands of gorgeous tulips all along Dow's Lake, and around the Parliament buildings. So very beautiful!
