A few ticks

I ticked a few things off my list today - got my bee blocks off to the post office and finished off my bee blessed blocks (but missed the post office!)

got a lot of gardening done in the gorgeous sunshine (off for a long hot bath in a minute to soak my aching body!)

and also did some scrap busting - which come with added bonus blocks as well.  I have a lot more of these to make and its amazing how you can pick up any fabric and not have to worry if it goes together or not, because it just does

And this arrived this morning

Beccy's long awaited prom dress.  It is stunning and she is thrilled.  I had my reservations, as we ordered it online to save money.  We paid an extra £15 to have it made to measure and it came in at £100.  Now - that is a lot of money for a dress: I know.  However it pales in to comparison to what her friends have paid (£300-£400 for dresses from the prom shops.)  The website were prompt, kept in contact and the dress is first class.  If you ever need a dress made for a special occasion head to diy dresses.  Shoes are next on her list
Now we are on the countdown to July 12th!!

Well I have about 10 years to get good at dressmaking then, as I don't fancy having to spend out for both my girls,(maybe the Prom thing will have moved on by then!!) xxx

  3. ohhh its a gorgeous dress, the colour and style suits her to a t, have to be high heels or she's gonna trip up on it...fancy paying £300 for a prom dress !!!! I'd hire one if I had to pay that. Mind you it's why my aunt made my wedding dress we were too tight to spend silly money on a one time wear lol :)

  9. The dress looks amazing! Great girl for modelling!
I made my daughters dresses, both because they are silly money, and so that they would have something no-one else had seen anywhere. But I could not have done that embellishment! And had I been doing beading or something, I would have had to start several years earlier!( grin).
Also, fabrics for dresses costs , a LOT, so you have done a really sensible thing there. Saved yourself a lot of all, money and time and worry!

  11. That dress looks stunning. Helped by the fact that Beccy has such a slim figure. I am sure she will have a wonderful time and I am now fully prepped to fear the costs of prom!
